The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home with a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic cash flow doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS my nsfas Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with 2025 nsfas application combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing 2025 nsfas application of their application.
